Year 7 Connect Club

As part of a Hertfordshire schools initiative we were invited to be part of a transition project with some selected year 7 students.

The project aimed to provide opportunities for our students to develop key characteristics and leadership skills in order to enable them to assist with the transition process for the year 6 students joining us in September.

The students followed a varied program of activities with the intention of providing them with the skills and knowledge to:

*Care:  Empathy & Kindness
*Communicate:   Consult, Question, Involve, Engage
*Collaborate:   Planning  and delivery of  joint primary & secondary activities

It has been a real pleasure to work with the students who have embraced orienteering, trampolining, team building, yoga, archery and kickboxing activities.  They then took their new found skills and confidence forward to help with the transition day for the year 6 students as well as some school tours, and I am sure they will be happily involved with open evening in the new academic year…
