Two of our outstanding year 12 students dedicated their own personal time to engage a year 11 class in a ‘pep’ talk around taking their GCSE’s seriously. Shaan Sahni and Larry Dokelman spoke candidly and eloquently about how year 11 is a pivotal step on the educational ladder and explained to the highly engaged students how vital it is for them to take the correct action now. These students went as far as to model and discuss essay writing skills and how to analyse information to get the higher grades, which are essential skills for GCSE. Both students were eager to deliver the talk as they understand what a difference it can make to hear this from a fellow student who walked in their shoes less than a year ago. Associate Leader and English teacher Mr Gary Johnson said, “The year 12’s were absolutely incredible. They were considerate and responsive to the year 11 students and there is no doubt that they made an incredible impact.”
