Positive Starts to the Day
It has been lovely to welcome so many parents and carers into our school this week at the start of the day to enjoy some refreshments in the School Restaurant and observe our Main School Assemblies for the different year groups in the school.
These assemblies have been led by members of the Pastoral Team and have focussed on the theme of Positivity and the things that we can all do to maintain positive mental health in a world that is often so complex. Pictured here Pastoral Managers Mrs Doran and Miss De Alwis spoke about how positivity is: choosing to look for the good in things,  supporting others around us and believing that things can get better.
The assembly was also an opportunity to remind all students of who to go to if they need support; any member of staff can help but in particular the Pastoral Leaders and Counsellors. Help can also be sought from friends and family.
The assembly reminded students of the negative effects of excessive screen time, online activity and mobile phone use – something we all need to work on in this digital age we live in and gave lots of practical tips and advice as to how to use these things in a positive way.
As parents and carers do look out for these positive opportunities to get involved in the life of the school. As a school, we are very mindful of the digital, online world we all work in – not least with the need to retain online parts evenings, but we do want to build strong and positive relationships with our parents. With that in mind, do look out for the next in-person engagement event!
