Bushey Meads Meet The Stars of Hunger Games
On the 7th of January a group of students got the wonderful opportunity to watch London’s West End production of The Hunger Games on stage. It was an exciting experience and it was great to see how a well known book and film series could be transformed into a live theatre performance. The show was held in an in-the-round design making it good to see from anywhere in the theatre. The stage design was also outstanding with the lighting, sound effects and moving sets all helping to bring the show to life. The actors delivered strong performances, successfully portraying the emotions and struggles of the characters. After the show ended, thanks to our wonderful teacher, Miss Forman, we had the pleasure to meet the two main actors – Mia Carragher who plays the role of Katniss Everdeen and Euan Garret who plays the role of Peeta Mellark – who kindly answered all of our questions about the show and their careers. What made the experience even more memorable than it already was, was that we were able to go onto the stage and were given a tour of the theatre. We saw how the production worked behind the scenes, including the set, technical equipment and dressing rooms, giving us a deeper appreciation of the effort involved in bringing the show to life. Truly an experience I’ll never forget.
Year 12 student, Sophie
