Students who really thrive in their exams have a breadth of cultural capital to draw on. This is not solely knowledge gained in the classroom and on school trips but from their experiences in the wider world.

Whilst holidays to places of historical importance can build this there are also lots of opportunities closer to home and cheaper. A major way to  increase cultural capital is by reading, reading for pleasure has many benefits including widening vocabulary and enhancing knowledge. It can also open up new worlds and enhance overall cognitive function.

We are lucky enough to live just a train ride from London. All London Art Galleries and Museums are free to enter and have something to interest everyone. Just walking through the City looking at the architecture in different areas, the hustle bustle of ChinaTown and taking in the tranquility of some of the parks all offer a vast array of experiences.

This Easter there is also  The Big Egg Hunt 100 Easter Eggs decorated by famous artists hidden around the City. A great way to take in the sights and history of London with an element of competition for the family.
