BSJT Annual Conference 2026

On Monday of this week it was great to be able to welcome over 200 delegates to the annual Bushey St James Trust Conference. The delegates included teachers and teaching assistants from Bushey Meads, Little Reddings and Hartsbourne Primary School, as well as a number of staff from other local secondary schools in the area. The theme of the conference was The Empowered Educator and the keynote speech at the start of the day and the eclectic range of high-quality workshops on offer had a real focus on engagement, adaptive teaching and maximising progress for all learners across all phases of our multi academy trust.

The keynote speaker was Tom Sherrington, an experienced former Headteacher and teacher, who has worked in schools for 30 years since starting his training in 1986. He is now a leading professional in the world of education consultancy and heads up teacherhead consulting. He has a passion for working with teachers and school leaders to explore and implement contemporary educational ideas that help deliver an excellent all-round education for all young people and his inspiring keynote and his obvious passion for learning really set the tone for the day. We were very privileged to secure Tom as he regularly contributes to conferences and CPD sessions locally and nationally and is very busy working in schools and colleges across the country and around the world.
I would like to thank Senior Lead Practitioner Mrs Hoskins and Lead Practitioner Miss Pattni for arranging the inspirational day and ensuring that our ongoing professional development continues to benefit all the students in our care.
A huge thank you also goes to all the superb practitioners who led such inspiring workshops throughout the day.
We know that days like this are significant moments in time for us as schools within a multi academy trust.
