The Power to Improve
At BMS we continue to employ many effective and proven strategies to ensure our pedagogy and practice across all classrooms in the school is as strong as possible.
Research often reminds us that the power to improve is always ‘in the room’ or, in our case ‘in the school’. At BMS we have many outstanding practitioners across all subjects who are constantly refining and honing their craft. What is powerful is being able to create those opportunities to see this pedagogy in action and strengthen that culture of having ‘open-door’ classrooms and encourage and facilitate those opportunities to learn from each other.
Under the expertise of Senior Lead Practitioner Mrs Hoskins all teachers are being given the opportunity to pair up and observe each other teach a lesson – looking for strengths and great ideas and activities and also suggesting possible areas for development. Within a non-judgemental atmosphere we know this will benefit all staff and in turn all children as we look to take on board some powerful encouragement and feedback from our colleagues.
Pictured here at our Staff Briefing on Monday morning, Mrs Hoskins is launching this next round of classroom observations which will undoubtedly help us all to become even better teachers moving forward.
