Year 7 Olympic Day Challenge

On Wednesday 8th July, our Year 7 students took part in the Olympic Day Challenge as part of our Enrichment Day programme. The event was delivered by Enable Hertfordshire and gave students the opportunity to develop a range of valuable skills through fun, creative activities.

The day began with an Olympic-themed quiz, testing students’ knowledge of the history, values and traditions of the Olympic Games. Students then worked in small teams, with each group representing a different country. Together, they designed a team T-shirt, an Olympic medal, a ceremonial torch and a sandwich board to showcase their country’s identity and Olympic spirit.

Throughout the challenge, teams were assessed on key employability and life skills, including communication, problem solving, creativity, teamwork and the quality of their final presentation. The standard of work and collaboration was impressive, making the judges’ task a difficult one. At the end of the event, bronze, silver and gold awards were presented to the teams that demonstrated these skills most effectively.

The Olympic Day Challenge was an enjoyable and engaging experience that encouraged students to work collaboratively, think creatively and build confidence while celebrating the values of the Olympic Games. Well done to all of our Year 7 students for their enthusiasm and participation, and congratulations to our winning teams.
