On Tuesday 14th July we were invited to JCoSS, a Jewish School in Barnet to take part in an interactive “Change Makers” session. This was led by year 10 students at JCoSS and was an opportunity to teach us about Judaism through student led activities.
Students said “I enjoyed the trip so much! I always found other religions interesting and always loved to learn about other religions more so this trip was a really good opportunity to learn more about Judaism. The people who were there were so friendly and helped so much with my questions.”
“The trip was interactive and educational. It was an amazing opportunity for year 7 and 8. It was a great opportunity as someone who is not Jewish to learn and understand more about the religion of judaism. My favourite part of the trip was trying the different foods and learning about the Friday night dinner.”
“The trip to JCoSS was amazing as we learnt all about Judaism. My favourite part of the trip was when we learnt about the Friday night dinner and I would recommend this to other people as it was fun and educational”
” As someone who is Jewish I thought there wouldn’t be much for me to learn that I didn’t already know. However when we did some activities I actually found that there were a lot of things I didnt know! I enjoyed finding out the inventions that have been made by a Jewish because I’ve never really taken time in seeing who the religions are who created things. For example I found out that Levi Strauss who created clothing is Jewish ,
There were various activities which were very engaging. The year 10 students from Jcoss were very nice and made it clear we could ask any questions which was very nice because we knew that they would be able to answer anything that we asked.”
It was a privilege to see our students engage in all the activities and really enjoy the experience. We thank all the students and staff at JCoSS who were involved and made us feel so welcome.
