Prevent Training at BMS
On Tuesday afternoon, as part of our essential Staff Development Afternoon, all staff completed their mandatory Prevent Training.
Introduced by Deputy Headteacher Ms de Groot, we were reminded about the purpose of the training: Prevent duty training is a mandatory safeguarding and counter-terrorism program that teaches frontline professionals, such as teachers, healthcare workers, and social workers, how to recognise individuals who are susceptible to radicalisation and how to provide early intervention and support. It is a core component of the UK government’s counter-terrorism strategy.
Staff then went to their individual work spaces and completed the 30 minute training module.
It is all part of keeping children safe at Bushey Meads School.
