In the D&T department our talented students have cooked up something special—food-inspired cushions!
Inspired by favourite foods, eye-catching packaging and designer runway pieces, students translated their love for food into vibrant and unique cushion designs. Students delved into the world of textiles, learning various techniques and concepts to bring their ideas to fruition. The challenge? To reimagine everyday food items as cosy cushions that not only look appealing but also whimsical.
Students embarked on the journey of transforming fabrics into three-dimensional foods, ranging from pizza slices, oversized sushi rolls with some made into comical characters with faces. Students experimented with different fabrics, textures, and embellishments to capture the essence of their chosen food items, whilst developing their machine skills.
Well done to all the students who worked hard with this project, we look forward to seeing what the new groups of students cook up next!
