On Thursday 18th July, Bushey Meads School hosted the Modern Foreign Languages Mini Olympics Day. Led by Miss Moses (Little Redding’s School) and supported by Miss Paddick, (Bushey Meads School) teams of ten children from local primary schools attended and competed against each other.
There were a range of activities which tested the childrens’ French knowledge, focusing on vocabulary that they will have learnt in school throughout the academic year. Children had to work together, communicating clearly with each other and demonstrating excellent team work skills in order to be able to complete the activities such as spelling words, listing as many words as they could from a topic, beating the MFL Language Leaders at noughts and crosses, labelling parts of the body as well as balloons and matching pictures and words together, all in French!
Once the activities had been completed, all students had ice creams and were awarded certificates and medals for their participation in the event. Highwood School came first and were awarded a trophy and winning certificates.
We would like to thank Miss Moses for all her hard work in preparing for and leading to-day’s event together with Miss Paddick, Language Leaders, staff from participating schools and our Year 12 work experience student, Georgia Sargent for ensuring that today was a success.
As more and more classrooms are being refurbished and modernised across our school site (thanks to the ongoing programme of re-decoration implemented by our hard working site...
