Marking and Feedback Fortnight

With our next BMS Marking and Feedback fortnight starting on Monday, it was great to hear Assistant Headteacher Mr Searle outlining a focus for the 2 weeks.

One area we want to work on to embed further is in capturing the powerful verbal feedback that we as staff give to all students on a daily basis.
Students can play their part in completing the highly visible orange stickers and of course respond in their work (whether practical or written) in the appropriate way.

This weekend, as parents and carers, do make sure that your child has their purple pen at the ready and ensures that all the feedback stickers and green pen marking have been responded to in their books and folders.

Research states that students responding to feedback is one of the most powerful strategies to ensuring excellent progress – worth spending some time on getting it right!
