It was great to walk through the science faculty at Bushey Meads School last week and see so many students fully engaged in learning about exciting things in the world around us, from the perspective of scientific discovery. Many of the students were asking and answering some great questions and were watching excellent videos and studying images to enhance their knowledge. They were also demonstrating experiments to underpin and reinforce their learning.

Year 13 physicists were exploring the effect of air on reducing frictional force and were explaining about the apparatus used to quantify their learning. Year 7 students were just about to start an experiment to separate salt from water, imagining that they were stranded on a desert island and needing to use their scientific knowledge to survive.

It was also really positive to see how many Sixth Form leaders were helping out in these science lessons as part of their Kindness Matters community service, being great role models to all the younger students.

I would like to thank all the teachers in the science faculty for really bringing learning to life and to all the Sixth Form students for their support in leading within the science faculty.
