Student Engagement In MFL

It’s good to see that there has progress in the time that I have been here. One of my year 12 students emailed me to let me know how much she has grown in spanish and how she now feels more confident. Take a look at the message below

It is almost hard to convey how amazing you have been as a teacher in words. From the way you always ensure the work we do is engaging, to the way you make everyone feel confident to talk even when it can feel daunting. Prior to year 12, my confidence in regards to speaking in Spanish was rather low and I always felt embarrassed, however, since you joined Bushey Meads and we have started our lessons my confidence has increasingly grown.

Nowadays, I am much more relaxed when presenting my ideas in Spanish. I also love the way you bring your own, unique perspective to each of our lessons. Learning about entirely new cultures can be quite overwhelming and it is not rare that we make mistakes, but, thanks to your help, we are able to rectify these and discover new things about Hispanic culture which we otherwise may have never known before. The way in which you endeavour to go above and beyond expectations is inspiring, even when we entered lockdown and could not attend physical lessons, you ensured we still received the utmost support, even to the extent where you scheduled extra classes. Entering our exams in a couple of weeks, this extra effort is truly appreciated and without your lessons, I am unsure whether I would be so certain of myself and my ability.

As previously stated, it is near impossible to summarise how beneficial both you and your lessons have been, however, the one thing I do know is that your presence will be greatly missed within our classroom. Thank you so much for helping to teach us this year and I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavours.
