Rising to the challenge…

One might wonder how we could get students to still get a decent practical experience with remote learning in subjects such as Food Technology, but as is shown below, the students and staff at Bushey Meads, yet again, have risen to the challenge and shown the will to find a way and not settle for the easy option.

Logged in to Ms Hanbury’s live lesson from home, Evan Luxton, in Year 9, along with his mum, were following the live demonstration to make fresh bread. Evan’s mum wrote the following:

“Dear Ms Hanbury,

Thank you for your practical lesson today, Evan really enjoyed making bread and we have just eaten it for our lunch, it was delicious.

I have attached a photo of him.”

It was a real pleasure to walk in to Ms Hanbury’s live lesson and be reminded yet again what amazing teachers we have and how they go the extra mile to provide the very best for the students in our care. Despite all but one student being logged on from home, there was still a real buzz about the lesson and I could see a good number of students cooking at home too. Please watch the video below to get a flavour of this outstanding lesson!
