We were delighted to welcome the fantastic Rak-Su to school for a special Q&A session with a group of our Year 7 and 8 students, alongside our GCSE and A Level Performing Arts students.
The session gave students a fantastic opportunity to hear first hand about the group’s journey, from their beginnings and how Rak-Su came together, to their exciting experiences in the music industry. They spoke openly about their time on The X Factor, sharing what it was like to take part in such a huge television show and how their experiences there helped shape their careers.
They also talked honestly about life in the entertainment industry since appearing on the show, including the opportunities, challenges and choices they have faced along the way. Our students were particularly keen to hear about the different career paths available within the performing arts industry and asked lots of thoughtful questions about pursuing a career in music and performance, as well as a few others.
Rak-Su were incredibly generous with their advice, encouraging students to work hard, believe in themselves and make the most of every opportunity that comes their way. They spoke beautifully and honestly about their own experiences, giving our students a valuable insight into what it takes to build a career in the industry.
The group also shared news about their upcoming show at Watford Palace Theatre, giving students even more to look forward to as they continue their journey.
To finish the session, Rak-Su treated the students to a fantastic a cappella performance of ‘I’m Feeling You’. Hearing the group perform live, without any backing track, was a brilliant way to round off what had already been an inspiring and memorable session. The students thoroughly enjoyed the surprise performance and it was a wonderful reminder of the talent, energy and passion that Rak-Su bring to their performances.
The session ended on a real high, with plenty of group photographs, selfies, conversations and even a few autographs! It was a brilliant opportunity for our students to meet such inspiring performers and hear directly from artists who have worked hard to turn their passion into a career.
A huge thank you to Rak-Su for taking the time to visit us, answer so many questions and share their experiences. Their visit was both inspiring and memorable, and we hope it has encouraged our students to continue pursuing their own ambitions in the performing arts!
