Two of our year 12 A-Level Dance students have been putting their skills into action as part of our Kindness Matters volunteering programme, supporting our new Year 10 GCSE Dance students with their transition into the course.
The Year 12 students planned and taught choreography to the Year 10 dancers, giving them the opportunity to share their knowledge, experience and passion for dance. The sessions provided the Year 10 students with a chance to develop their performance skills with fresh choreography while building confidence in a supportive and encouraging environment.
For our Year 12 students, the experience has also been a valuable opportunity to develop their leadership, communication and teaching skills. They have taken responsibility for breaking down choreography, demonstrating movements and encouraging younger students throughout the session.
This highlights the importance of students supporting one another across year groups and demonstrates how volunteering can have a positive impact on both the person giving their time and those receiving their support.
A huge well done to our Year 12 dancers for showing kindness, leadership and a commitment to helping others! You’ll be able to see their work in future performances, further details to come.
