Year 12 Settling in Evening
Our Year 12 Settling In Evening was a fantastic success, and it was great to see so many parents and carers join our staff in supporting our new Sixth Form cohort. The strong turnout created a brilliant, positive atmosphere, giving families a clear picture of what to expect and building a solid foundation for the year ahead.
In the main presentation, we gave a simple overview of what the step up from GCSEs to Key Stage 5 really involves. Alongside our Head Students, we outlined our key expectations around attendance and independent study habits, shared practical tips on how families can help balance schoolwork with home life, and highlighted fantastic enrichment opportunities like student leadership, work experience, and the EPQ.
Following the presentation, parents headed into tutor rooms to meet directly with their child’s Character Development Coach (CDC). This section gave everyone a chance to ask early questions, check in on how students are adjusting to their new routines, and start building those strong personal connections that will keep our students supported all year long.
Overall, a really positive evening for Parents/Carers and students. We hope for the Year 12students to continue to build on their excellent start to the year and continue to implement positive habits, mindset and set themself up for every success over the next two years.
