At Bushey Meads the safety of our students remains a top priority in all areas. One area is that of emergency evacuations and this is something we take very seriously. Over the last few weeks students have been practising safely evacuating the school site in the event of an emergency and have filed out of their classrooms in silence, walking slowly but purposely towards the line up stations in the playground and on the Astro Turf, accompanied by their teachers and CDCs.

Registers are taken as quickly and accurately as possible and everyone is accounted for by the Pastoral Managers and Attendance Officer. Hopefully we will never need to put this into a real life situation but we are ready – just in case.

I would like to congratulate all students for taking the health and safety aspects of the school so seriously and of course thank the staff for their support. The images here show all the students in Key Stage 3 practising on Monday morning under the clear blue skies at the start of the week.
