Chef’s are off to a great start!
This half term we have welcomed our final groups of Year 7’s into the kitchen to develop their skills and knowledge in food and nutrition.
My year 7 class have been working really well to develop their practical skills. They have been learning about the eatwell guide, safety and hygiene in the kitchen, enzymic browning and have been practising safe knife skills such as the bridge and claw method.

Students have worked in their pairs to produce a fruit salad and this week they made a couscous salad, combining a range of ingredients to make a nutritious meal. Students worked fantastically in a systematic, organised manner and were brilliant at washing up after too!

Each week I nominate students who have worked really well, as my Chefs of the Week! This week the award goes to Ella, Risham, Bhagya and Oscar with their great team work, speedy preparation and delicious looking food!

A big well done to all!
