Year 7 Boys Sportshall Athletics – Hertfordshire Indoor Finals   Mr Mitman

After winning their qualifying match in the South West Herts competition, the Bushey Meads year 7 Sportshall Athletics boys team took to Wodson Park on Tuesday 21st March to represent the Watford district.

The finals were split into 2 heats, dividing the 11 finalists teams into 2 pools, with the BMS ‘Rapids’ taking up a well deserved spot in pool 2.

The team, consisting of some exceptional athletes representing across all the houses at BMS was:

Ryan, Blake, Kyrese, Rory, Jamie, Seb, Petros, Roco

All of the boys represented the school extremely well showing great ability, tenacity and resilience and did themselves and the school proud.  Some of the outstanding track results are listed below:

  • Obstacle relay – Heat Winners (Ryan, Blake, Rory, Roco)
  • 2 Lap race – Heat winners (Rory, Kyrese)
  • 4 Lap race – Heat Winners (Blake, Roco)
  • 6 Lap Race – Heat winners (Ryan)

Overall Result:  3rd

A huge congratulations to the boys and well done on their determination, hard work and excellent effort in coming 3rd overall and securing the bronze medal for Bushey Meads.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

YEAR 9 INTER-HOUSE BASKETBALL       Mr Cartledge

On Tuesday 28th March over 30 boys in Year 9 took part in the annual Inter House basketball competition. It was a great evening of basketball with lots of keenly contested games played in good spirit. The focus of all our Inter House competitions is to get as many students as possible involved and provide an opportunity for students to experience some competitive sport in a friendly atmosphere. After 14 matches the deciding game saw 9ELM narrowly beat 9BEECH to clinch the win. Well done to all of the boys who took part.
