Student Wellbeing is Key
At BMS we take students’ wellbeing seriously and try our very best to ensure the best support and advice is available to all of them as they navigate the complexities of their teenage years.
Assistant Headteacher Mrs Greenwood is officially our Senior Mental Health Champion and a key member of the senior leadership team. She has appointed a superb group of Student Mental Health Champions and is training them to have a big impact across the school. The Pastoral Leaders also work very closely with her and all the students and play a key role in this important whole school agenda.
Last week Mrs Greenwood led some powerful whole school assemblies which reminded all students that they have a key part to play in promoting and safeguarding their own mental well being. Staying active, surrounding yourself with good friends, being kind to yourself and others around you, being generous with your time and listening to others, as well as learning yourself from those around you, are all key levers to employ.
The assemblies once again reminded us of the importance of Having a Mind to Be Kind – something that is at the very heart of our school.
