Scientist of the Week – Issue 60

This weeks scientist of the week is Dian Fossey who was an American primatologist and conservationist known for undertaking an extensive study of mountain gorilla groups.

Born in Sansfisco, Dian studied gorillas in the Rwandan rainforest mountains and actively supported conservation efforts, opposing poaching and tourism in wildlife habitats, and made more people acknowledge sapient gorillas.

Her autobiography Gorillas in the Mist, was turned into a film starring Sigourney Weaver.

What is the collective name for a group of gorillas?
This weeks scientist of the week was nominated by Matt Kram.
