One Voice at BMS
In our Monday Magic Moment at the start of this week it was good to hear in our Staff Briefing meeting from Deputy Headteacher Ms de Grrot and be reminded of the importance of our One Voice rule – an intrinsic element of our Keys to Success.
She informed staff that, from a recent survey conducted with students across the school, it was reassuring to see that over 70% of students fully know how to behave in and out of school. They all know about the 3Rs of Respect, Responsibility and Relationships and are well aware of the very clear Keys to Success.
As parents and carers do continue make sure that your child:
  • Wears the correct school uniform including a tie and proper school shoes
  • Has all the equipment they need for school, including a purple pen and calculator
  • Arrives on time for school (by 8.30 am at the latest) and is punctual to all lessons
One aspect of the Keys to Success that Ms de Groot encouraged us to strengthen and work on this week is the One Voice rule; in classrooms (unless there is group work taking place) there should only be one voice at a time – either the teacher’s voice or that of one of the students asking or answering a question. This way we all play our part in maintaining disruption free learning – something that students in the survey acknowledged as an area to work on.
As parents and carers I would like to thank you for your continued support for good behaviour in and out of school – do remind your children to always adhere to the One Voice rule in lessons.
