New Year New Commitment!
Head of Standards, Safeguarding and SEND, Mrs Ash led the assemblies this week in the Main Hall on the theme of Commitment. Speaking to all year groups across the school, she focussed on the commitment to learning that is such a crucial and necessary ingredient in students’ success. She explained that commitment involves students taking responsibility – for their attendance, punctuality and independent study. All students should be aiming for 100% attendance and 100% punctuality.
They should also be completing at least a half an hour of independent study a day (on top of any homework set by teachers) on the many online learning platforms available. These include Dr Frost, MyMaths, Mathswatch, SAMLearning, SENECA and Educake, Bedrock amongst others available through the school.
As parents and carers do encourage your children to make an even greater commitment to their learning and do support them to show a positive attitude to learning both in and out of school.
At the start of this new year, do encourage them to do even more independent learning and perhaps join a new extra curricular club as they look forward to another very positive term at the start of 2024.
