I wanted one of my lovely Year 7 students to share an article about the day she spent at Aldenham Farm. Our students have amazing opportunities at Bushey Meads to be involved in a unique approach to education through an alternative provision. For some students this is the reason they come to school each day as they have this therapeutic day to break up their week.

My day at Aldenham Farm:
Ms Dillon has asked me to write about my day at the farm… so here goes…

Today at the farm we started by going on the bus that Mr Hammond was driving. It took around 15-20 minutes to get there. When we got there we were greeted by Toni at the door with her dog Ruby (Toni is the lady who takes us around the farm).

When we went inside I drew a picture for Tony then me and my friend Aisha went on the swings. Toni called us in and told us what we were going to do first. We were going to do the goat up at the lower farm and we used teamwork the whole time.

Then we heard that the lambs were being born, and we went down to see and saw 2 baby lambs being born and they were both boys, it was amazing to watch. That took us the whole morning so then we headed back for lunch.

Toni showed us how to make birds out of wool and we made some of our own. Then we had a beautiful peaceful walk around the lake and got to see some swans swimming. We headed back because some of us were really hot, so we started splashing each other to cool off and we all got really wet (it was really fun). We then gave Toni  some good ideas to put in the new sensory room at the farm. We then had a peaceful and safe drive home.

I have to say I LOVED IT and the farm is the best part of my week, and it makes me so happy.
