Crucial Times for Year 11s
In Science and Maths lessons on Wednesday morning this week it was impressive to see how well all students were really focussing on the key next steps to take to move their PPE results to the next level. Students were reflecting on their PPE papers and identifying the key topics and questions to practise and develop.
In Mr Beswick’s lesson some students were disappointed with their grades and were demonstrating that determination to improve, listening carefully as Mr Beswick talked them through a vector question – one of the harder questions and topics often at the end of the paper. In Mr Kasza’s class it was great to see some students moving on to Further Maths questions to refine and enhance their mathematical abilities even beyond GCSE. In Mr Wood’s class students were practising exam techniques and going through past paper questions – focussing on mastering those problem questions that will take them to the next level. There was a similar motivation to success in science which was powerful to see.
Staff at Bushey Meads School are really going the extra mile for the Year 11 students at this time with additional revision classes arranged after school: Maths on Monday, English on Tuesday and Science on Wednesday with foundation subjects on Thursday and Friday offered every week.
It was superb to see over 70 students attending the English revision session this week and hear what a difference the classes are making.
