Eyes on the Speaker!

Eyes on the Speaker!
One aspect of our newly launched behaviour curriculum BMS READY is the key habit of keeping our eyes on the speaker.
Associate Leader Mr Johnson led a really helpful Monday Magic Moment focussed on this habit and explained to all staff in our Staff Briefing meeting on Monday morning in the Main Hall what this looks like in lessons and what we as teachers can build into our lessons to ensure consistency across the school.
Focusing on who is talking (whether that is a student, the teacher or a Learning Assistant) can aid concentration and understanding and can facilitate the students to stay focussed and maximise their progress of learning.
Fundamentally it also reinforces our character trait and core value of showing Respect – one of our important 3 Rs.
As parents and carers do talk to your children about the BMS READY behaviour curriculum here at Bushey Meads and do your bit to support our continued drive to maximise learning, aid excellent progress and strengthen further our good behaviour in and around the school.
