Head of Sixth Form Mr Harris led an inspiring assembly to start the week for our superb Sixth Form students on Monday morning in the Main Hall. Under the theme of The Year Ahead he encouraged the students to consider how high performing teams make those small adjustments over time that all add up to significant gains.

Using the example of an F1 Team, he spoke about the pit stop routines and the design of the cockpits in the cars and how the feedback loop, informed by accurate data, allowed for progress to be maximised. He strongly encouraged the new Year 12 students and those Year 13 students, about to embark on their final and most important school year to date, to review what things they could do to maximise their learning and achievement.

He reinforced the idea that it doesn’t have to be huge big changes that have an effect for a bit but are hard to sustain over time. Often the little changes we make are more sustainable and have a longer lasting effect.
