Year 9/10 Cricket v Westfield (Division 1) Mr Cartledge
Date : Monday 15th June 2026
Score : Bushey Meads 96 for 1 (15 overs) Westfield 69 for 7 (15 overs) BMS win by 27 runs
Batting : M Patel 22 not out, P Patel 19 not out, M Jaji 19 not out
Bowling : P Patel 3 for 11, M Khil 2 for 4, A Chaudhry Shamas 1 for 8, S Jabarkhel 1 for 22, E Rumney 0 for 14, S Kochai 0 for 10
Squad : P Patel, M Jaji, A Chaudhry Shamas, S Mcgrath, E Rumney, M Khil, S Kochai, S Jabarkhel, D Isles, M Patel
Comment : A really good start to the season for the senior cricket team with a good win against a strong Westfield team. Opener M Patel played some good technical shots before retiring having scored 22 runs. M Jaji and P Patel then pushed the score along with some big hitting to leave the boys on a decent score of 96. A fine catch from E Rumney off the bowling of S Jabarkhel saw the boys take a key early wicket. All the boys bowled well to restrict the Westfield team to a score of 69. After having a number of games postponed due to the weather it was really good to get off to a winning start.
Year 7/8 Cricket v St Michael’s (Div 1) Mr Harris
Date: Monday 15th May 2026
Score :
Bushey Meads 62 for 7 (15 overs)
St Michael’s 94 for 4 (15 overs)
BMS lost by 32 runs
Batting: A. Shah (3), M. Jabarkhail (10), E. Kochai (15), A. Fernandes (3), J. Sunesh (3), F. Neal (3), B. Stanley (3).
Squad: J Sunesh, F Zamiri, A Shah (Capt), A Fernandes (W), M Jabarkhail, E Kochai, T Halai, F Neal, R Patel, B Stanley, O Lankshear
Comment: A difficult game against a strong St Michael’s side, STM batted first and they got off to a strong start, shortly into the game, 2 students retired after scoring 25 runs, they got STM going on the board. We really struggled to get past their opening batters. Moving through the game, we started to get into it. There was some good fielding throughout the game, but too many extras and overthrows when going into the wicket cost us when looking to keep the score down. Moving into our batting, we started well. STM had a quick bowler to start, but A. Shah managed to keep at bay with some excellent shots. Similarly, M. Jabarkhail managed to get some early runs on the board with two fours, one off the edge past the slip, whilst another straight down the wicket. A lack of concentration and shot choice was a consistent theme throughout the game today, too many times we got caught by shots which we tried to smash but didn’t make it, or we didn’t make the right connection with. A difficult afternoon for the boys, but excellent effort from all involved. A strong bowling performance from STM also helped. Well done, and onto the next game.
