Mental Health Awareness Week
Deputy Head of Sixth Form Miss Goldstone led a thought provoking assembly for all Sixth Form students on Monday of this week focussing on how mobile phone use can affect young people’s mental health. Whilst we live in a digital age, it is very important to be aware of the risks and mitigate against any negative effects that our digital technologies may have.
She reminded students of the addictive nature of many of the social media apps and asked students to consider how much time they are spending on their devices, highlighting a recent court case in the US that successfully sued a social media company for damages to a person’s mental health. Besides highlighting the warnings she also provided lots of great advice and tips to students for hope to manage things which was helpful.
Our Sixth Formers are at a very important stage of their lives and we all want them to be healthy both physically and mentally, being able to contribute as positively as they can at Bushey Meads School and beyond as they move into their exciting futures.
