Focus on Raising Achievement
On Tuesday of this week our staff training day focussed solely on our core purpose of raising achievement.
Colleagues across the school were working hard creating new schemes of learning and enhanced assessment frameworks, completing practical endorsements and undertaking essential training. Other staff were further enhancing the use of the many powerful online platforms so invaluable these days in the learning process. In some of the core subjects staff were completing moderation tasks and further developing the curriculum, whilst other colleagues spent the time completing statutory reviews, budget forecast returns and month-end reconciliations.
At this stage of the year it is all about ensuring that the students are ready, and indeed the site is ready, for their upcoming exams with all the essential IT equipment available to ensure every success.
Many Year 11 and 13 students also attended some hugely important revision sessions arranged by their dedicated teachers and found these incredibly useful – some of them only a few hours away from their first exams.
The picture shows Assistant Headteacher Miss Silla speaking to the staff and launching the powerful INSET day under the theme of The Power of Today – a day which will undoubtedly benefit everyone involved in the life of the school.
