Kindness is Key
Mrs Doran, Assistant Pastoral Manager with oversight of Year 7, took the Main School assembly this week for the Year 7 cohort who entered the hall in their usual exemplary fashion. Our Year 7s have had a really positive term and have all made a brilliant start to their academic journey at Bushey Meads and, as Mrs Doran said, they have all shown a lot of kindness to each other already this year.
Mrs Doran reminded students of all the different ways that they have and can continue to show kindness and particularly reminded them to show kindness online – to never post anything that might cause upset as, once it is posted you can never take it away (even if you yourself delete it, it has been said).
She also reminded them to be kind to themselves by eating well, getting some exercise and enough sleep and by minimising their screen time and always remaining connected in with good friends and family members around you.
As it was Remembrance Day, she explained how we were going to show kindness and gratitude for those who have given their lives in wars so that we might live free and she also publicised this week’s Anti Bullying Week – another chance to support one another and be kind.
Her assembly made for a very positive start to the day.
