Year 8 and 9 Assembly
Students in Year 8 and 9 looked immaculate for their Main School Assembly this week and sat in perfect uniform in the Main Hall and listened extremely respectfully to Assistant Pastoral Managers Mrs Morley-Birch and Miss De Alwis presenting their assembly on the importance of kindness.
Miss De Alwis reminded us that we never know what battles are going on in the background in people’s lives and what impact an act of kindness might have – even something simple such as a kind word or smile can make a big difference.
Mrs Morley-Birch provided loads of practical examples of how we can all show kindness to others both in and outside of school – something that lots of students are doing each and every day.
The assembly also promoted the ‘Power of Good’ and the school’s Anti Bullying Week, reminding all present about our ongoing commitment to ensure bullying is reported when it does happen, and is dealt with effectively to ensure a safe and positive school.
Miss De Alwis gave the students a challenge to show one act of kindness each day this week and also congratulated 8 Willow and 9 Sycamore for winning the half termly Sparx Challenge and the chance to enjoy a Pizza Party later on this term.
It was a great assembly and made for a really good start to the day.
