enrichment day in HUMS
Last week we enjoyed our first enrichment day of the year with year 9 students immersing themselves in a range of humanities activities.
We hosted debates on a range of ethical issues including keeping animals in zoos, use of the death penalty and the role of the royal family!

Students enjoyed developing their artistic flare alongside geographical knowledge in the geography craft session where they mapped out the world’s continents using string with playdoh landmarks to add on.

Students feed back how they enjoyed the opportunity to search the school in a treasure hunt activity. From the clues given students located a range of tasks they had to complete in order to get their next clue. Tasks included creating a short video to the explain  why we celebrate Remembrance Day, naming countries for each letter of the alphabet and drawing an image of deity’s.
We were exceptionally proud to see the creativity of some budding entrepreneurs in a dragons den business activity. We saw pitches for shoe cleaning boxes and self warming coats to dog treats!
Alongside the fantastic tasks students fed back their enjoyment of the opportunity to work with students outside of their friendship group.
Well done to all the students for their excellent participation!
