At Bushey Meads School all staff and students fully understand the importance of reading and how it underpins everything we do and all learning and achievement. We are very lucky to have Ms Bowe as our Lead Practitioner for English and Whole School Literacy to support us all with so many exciting and impacting initiatives to boost reading across our learning community.
In our Monday Magic Moment at the start of this week, she reminded all staff of the Friday morning reading programme, based around carefully chosen set texts that are read to all students as they follow along with their BMS bookmarks, stopping every now and then to discuss the context and any key words to improve understanding and engagement.
As parents and carers do remind your children to read every single day and to always carry around a reading book with them in school. By reading regularly all students will improve their achievement!
