Singin’ in the Rain Workshop

As much as we were enjoying getting used to online Zoom classes, we are beyond happy to be seeing the return of in person workshops.

We were extremely fortunate to have West End performer, Mike Denman come in and run a Singin in the Rain workshop for some of our GCSE and A Level students.

Mike starred as Gene Kelly’s leading role of Don Lockwood in the stage production of Singin’ in the Rain and has been performing professionally for the two decades. He now travels all over the UK and Europe teaching workshops of the musicals he’s been in.

Being originally from the north he always felt that getting the chance to work with current and experienced West End performers was out of reach for anyone outside of London, so he set up Denman Theatre, “To bring the West End closer”.

The students really challenged themselves while having lots of fun learning the original repertoire from the title song, Singin’ in the Rain. Mike put them through their paces with this hard choreography, but to no surprise our dancers worked well to hit every beat…all with smiles on their faces.
