BSJT Oracy Conference Monday 2nd November,...

Monday saw our third Bushey St James Trust conference. Even though current circumstances meant we were not all physically together, a feast of learning and collaboration opportunities were arranged across the three schools- Bushey Meads, Little Reddings and Hartsbourne Primary. The aim was to celebrate oracy and explore ways to enhance our use of talk strategies in the classroom. We are all united in our desire to give our learners eloquent, confident and considerate voices. The day didn’t disappoint!

In the morning, we were delighted to welcome Isabella Wallace, renowned educator and trainer, for the keynote speech at Bushey Meads. After a fantastic presentation we all left with exciting ‘take-away and teach now’ ideas. Isabella then visited Little Reddings and later Hartbourne-delivering unique and bespoke training for the whole trust.

Several of our outstanding staff across the three schools delivered a total of 6 different workshops on the theme of oracy, speaking and listening- each member of staff attending two personalised workshops.

Thank you to our hardworking and committed staff across the trust for making it a thoroughly enjoyable and productive day!
