The Year 8 Boys have produced some very promising performances over the last week winning 2 matches and losing 1. It has been great to see them applying the skills learnt in lessons into competitive game play. details of the matches below :

Year 8 Boys Rugby v REACH FREE

Date :  Tuesday 6th March 2018

Result : Won 36-5

Tries : Max Machen 3, Dylan Cross 2, P Kovar

Conversions : M Machen 2, F Rowe

Commended performances : D Cross, M Machen

Squad : Leo Feeley, Ethan Callaghan, Kyle Oliveira, Charlie Brown, Dylan Cross, Max Machen, Noah Faruque, Toby Stevens, Frankie Rowe, Patrick Kovar

Comment : The year 8 rugby played their first match of the season and recorded an excellent 36-5 win over Reach Free. Some excellent individual running performances with the ball were supported by very good team tackling. The boys now need to work on the rucking and passing side of the game as they move into the next few weeks matches.


Year 8 Boys Rugby v BUSHEY ACADEMY

Date :  Thursday 8th March 2018

Result : Lost 22-12

Comment :A really keenly contested match finally saw the boys go down to a narrow 22-12 defeat. Some mich improve rucking from the boys from the previous match and some real signs the boys are developing the key skills of the game.

Date :  Monday 12th March 2018

Result : Won 55-25

Tries : Dylan Cross 4, Max Machen 3, Frankie Rowe, Stan Booth, Mustafa Tariq, Zach Freeman

Comment : The boys produced a really good display of rugby with some excellent tackling and rucking from the whole team. Special mention to Dylan Cross for some fantastic tries and Kyle Oliveira who was excellent at the breakdown.
