FOOTBALL

Year 8A Boys v Stanborough (County Cup) AWAY  Mr Harris

Date: Thursday 10th September 2026

Result: Won 4-3

Scorers: T. Milson (4)

Squad: B. Augustine (GK), G. Mulholland, A. Mair, S. Parmar, S. Scott, F. Neal, T. Milson, E. Muslu, J. Pearson, E. Callcut, C. Crookes-West

Commended performances: F. Neal, T. Milson & A. Mair

Comment: A very good performance from the year eight football team on their first outing of the year. We travelled to Stanborough School in the County Cup after only one training session. Students came into the game after working hard in that session and got to a really good start with two early goals in the game. Later on conceded just before halftime from a free kick that was given away outside the box. As a defence, we failed to deal with it and subsequently conceded. However, going into the second half, we were pretty happy with our performance. We worked hard, and we fought for the ball really well. We continued this in the second half as we got our third goal to make it 3 – 1. After a period where the game slowed down a bit as players got more tired, we took our eye off the ball and ended up conceding two towards the end of the game with about five minutes left. However, with some perseverance and strong running from T. Milson after a through ball from S. Scott, they managed to take the lead with only a few minutes remaining. They thoroughly deserved to win but made it a bit more difficult by some lapses in concentration. Excellent to get off to a good start and onwards to the next game on Monday.

Year 8A Boys v Rickmansworth School (District League) AWAY  Mr Harris

Date: Monday 14th September 2026

Result: Lost 7 – 0

Scorers

Squad: E. Stanley (GK), G. Mulholland, A. Mair, S. Parmar, S. Scott, M. Inch, F. Neal, T. Milson, E. Muslu, J. Pearson, O. Harper, G. O’Dea

Commended performances: F. Neal

Comment: A really difficult afternoon against a really strong Rickmansworth school side. After a cagey start, we conceded midway through the half time and we lost some confidence. Despite starting the second half well, we continued to struggle with the strength of the other school.

Senior U18 Boys v Grange Academy (District League) AWAY  Mr Cartledge

Date : Wednesday 16th September 2026

Result : Drew 1-1

Scorers : J Allan

Squad : S Mowle (Capt), J Allan, A Muraj (13) (GK), K Fung, L Bird, H Neal, A Nakazawa, N Konopka, T Odamtten, A Ramanan, H Maliqi, F Gee, R Doran , K Johnson, F Hoy (GK), K Walker

Commended performances : S Mowle, F Gee, R Doran, H Neal

Comment : A keenly contested game with few clear chances saw the boys start the season off with a battling draw. The boys played some good spells of passing football in the first half and were rewarded with an opening goal from J Allan after a mistake from the Grange goalkeeper. However the boys failed to capitalise on this and missed a couple of good chances to extend the lead. Grange came back into the game in the second half and scored deserved equaliser. The boys put in a very strong defensive performance with all the boys put in a pleasing and committed effort.
