It was really encouraging this morning to walk through all the Year 9 Technology lessons and see our cohort of students participating in the well planned curriculum carousel of options offered at this level to provide a real taste of things to come at Key Stage 4. With each class spending a few weeks in each technology area, the project gives all students the chance to plan more effectively for the future.
In every lesson there was high engagement, an excellent level of challenge that demanded them to think differently and a lot of excellent work being produced. What was even more impressive was how the learning journey across all the different disciplines is being captured in a brilliantly designed assessment booklet that tracks the students’ design ideas and provides clear assessment opportunities to review and reflect on their learning and achievement.
Well done Year 9s and well done to all the staff in our Design and Technology Faculty.
