Exciting Emerging Talent in Textiles!
During this half term, Textiles has seen some fantastic emerging talent across all our year groups!
Take a look below at some of the exciting projects in the making all happening in our very own textiles department!
Friday lunchtimes have seen our wonderful year 7’s, making beautiful decorations and also their very own pencil cases. Chloe has been working away and even made her own in her spare time!
Our Year 10 students have been working on their garment projects. Their design brief was to design and make a garment, that could be worn during a dance production. Jhanavi Tiwari has made an excellent mock up of the final skirt design that she will make. Vera Kutten has been challenging herself by using some stretch fabrics, in order to create a fitted cutout top and Ella-Rose Tripp has really shown her talent by creating an toile of the blouse she will make, accurately finished with bias binding around the armholes and a hand embroidered logo.
Our Year 11’s are working hard on their final pieces for their coursework projects. Franchesca has been working on a beautiful layered jumpsuit. Crystal is creating her very own pleated skirt using recycled fabrics and Ella is working on a tailored blazer using some special doubled sided patterned wool. Our Year 11 are wonderfully creative and I am excited to see all their final products in the flesh!
Watch this space and keep an eye out for updates on our Friday textiles club projects! If you feel inspired, come along and make something for yourself!
