Celebrating Leadership at all Levels
Head of Standards, Safeguarding and SEND, Mrs Ash led a series of main school assemblies this week to promote the importance of leadership and those hugely significant character traits (many of them linked to our own ethos and culture of the 3 Rs Respect, Responsibility and Relationships) that we want all young people at Bushey Meads to firmly develop. She reminded students of some very influencial leaders who have literally shaped the world, but that it all started with small steps – like ripples in a pond that then spread out to much greater things. 
 
She also took the opportunity to introduce our superb Sixth Form Senior Leaders to the rest of the school community. They received a well deserved and very warm round of applause for their acheivemnets over time and we look forward to their significant contributions this year in their important new roles. Head Students Alex and Ibiso and Head Prefects Benji and Silvia spoke about their responsibilities and what they hope to achieve.     
 
It was inspiring assembly and we look forward to seeing the impact of all our Student Leaders across all years groups in the school as they continue to step up and take responsibilty to be role models and representatives within our learning community. Judging by this week’s Student Parliament meeting held on Monday afternoon and the number of great ideas being talked about, it is going to be an exciting year. 
 
We can see that Student Voice is going to continue to play an important part of our ongoing school improvement journey.
