A newly formed Year 9 band has been making use of the practice rooms lately as they prepare for their Battle of the Bands performance which is part of their scheme of work for this term. It takes a lot of coordination to get a band tight and ready for a performance, and the group has been working hard on playing as a cohesive unit. It’s great to see them taking the initiative with extra rehearsals.
Choir
The school choir have been working on some challenging new vocal harmonies and are making excellent progress each week with their song Killer Queen. We are also very pleased to have one of our A Level students, Larry, stepping in to accompany the choir on the piano. Having a senior student provide the live accompaniment is a huge help to the group, and it’s a wonderful example of different year groups working together to make things happen.
