Mountain Bike Workshop Project: A Positive...

Over the past 6 weeks, we have been working hard to develop an exciting new Mountain Bike Workshop Project as part of our Alternative Curriculum provision. The aim of this project has been to provide students with a positive, engaging, and practical learning experience that helps build confidence, develop new skills, and encourage personal achievement.

We are delighted to announce that the workshop is now fully operational and running successfully. Over recent weeks, students have been taking part in taster sessions, giving them the opportunity to explore the workshop, learn about bicycle maintenance, and experience hands on learning in a supportive environment.

The response from students has been extremely positive, with many showing enthusiasm and interest in developing their practical skills further and getting really good feedback from them

Looking ahead to September, we are excited to launch a full accreditation programme. Throughout the term, students will work towards recognised accreditation while learning a range of essential bicycle maintenance skills. Starting with the basics, they will develop their knowledge and confidence through practical activities such as safety checks, puncture repairs, brake adjustments, and general bike maintenance, taking the bike apart and putting it all back over time.

This new provision represents an important step forward in expanding our Alternative Curriculum offer and creating additional opportunities for students to succeed in different ways. We are excited about the future of the project and look forward to seeing our young people develop valuable skills, gain accreditation AQA and continue to grow in confidence through their involvement in the workshop.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported the development of the project so far and look forward to sharing further updates as the programme continues to grow.
