It has been an incredibly busy and vibrant term in the Music Department, and we couldn’t be prouder of our students. From lunch-time rehearsals to prestigious London concert halls, our young musicians have been showcasing their talent, dedication, and passion.
Here is a look at what we’ve been up to, and a sneak peek at the exciting events on the horizon!
On Thursday 7th of May, our GCSE and A-Level music students, along with regular attendees of our music clubs, embarked on a brilliant trip to the Southbank Centre in London.
The students experienced an inspirational rendition of Romantic music, performed by the Philharmonia Orchestra, Kavakos Conducts Dvorák, Schumann & Brahms. For many, seeing a live, world-class orchestra in action was a breathtaking experience. Beyond the incredible music, a particular highlight of the venue was, of course, getting to ride the famous “singing lift”!
Most importantly, our students were impeccable ambassadors for our school. Their behavior was exemplary, and they represented us with immense pride. A huge well done to everyone who attended!

Mark your calendars! Our highly anticipated Summer Concert, Meads Fest, is officially scheduled for Wednesday 8th of July (the penultimate week of term).
Our ensembles are already working incredibly hard to perfect their setlists. In addition to our regular clubs, our Year 9 students have been channel-surfing their inner rock stars during their recent Battle of the Bands scheme of work in class. We are hoping to see some of these newly formed student bands take the stage at Meads Fest alongside our established ensembles. It promises to be an unforgettable afternoon of music!

Get Involved: Extra-Curricular Music Clubs
We want as many students as possible to experience the joy of making music. If your child is looking to learn a new skill, meet new friends, or just have some fun, encourage them to come along to one of our weekly clubs.
