Top performers: M. Jabarkhail and F. Zamiri
Comment: A lovely afternoon to start with Cricket for the Year 7 & 8 boys team. We faced off against a strong St Margrets team, who had some strong experience throughout the bowling and batting team. Choosing to bowl first, we started well and managed to take a wicket early on through M. Jabarkhail, who was representing the school for the first time.
After all 15 overs, we managed to keep the score to 116/1. Moving into our turn to bat, we started slowly but clawed back some runs through aggressive batting from M. Jabarkhail. Other top performances on the bat included J. Muraj scoring 8 and F. Zamiri scoring 4 from the bat. Eventually, our final wicket fell, and we finished 71 all out. Overall, a positive day for the boys and an excellent first competitive cricket match.

BSJT PRIMARY BASKETBALL FESTIVAL
On Wednesday 29th April we welcomed Year 5 students from Little Reddings and Hartsbourne Primary Schools for a mini basketball festival. The sessions were expertly delivered by our new Year 10 Sports Leaders who were excellent role models throughout. Coaching sessions were delivered in the key skills of passing, dribbling and shooting before some game play to finish the sessions. The primary students were fantastic, showing great enthusiasm and a real desire to learn. Thanks to every one involved for another really successful primary secondary event.

PE kit
It is essential that students have the full correct PE kit for all lessons. This includes shinpads and black /yellow socks when participating in football lessons and also a pair of white sports socks for all other activities. Students will be reminded when activities change. Students not bringing the correct kit will instantly receive consequence points.
Girls should be wearing plain black shorts which are longer than the length of their PE shirt or hoody. Leggings should be black sports leggings and not see through. Black tracksuit bottoms are also permitted.
ALL jewellery should be removed prior to the start of the lesson, including earrings, and hair should be tied up.
For any parental enquiries about any aspects of PE contact the Head of PE and Health Faculty Ashley Cartledge cartledgea@busheymeads.org.uk . For any specific issues related to Girls PE and girls fixtures contact Sarah Cooper coopers@busheymeads.org.uk.
