As a school it’s always lovely to hear of our students’ sporting successes outside of the school environment. At Bushey Meads we have some fantastic athletes who take part in a whole host of sporting events in the local community as well as at County, Regional and National level. From dance to martial arts, equestrian to swimming there is a hot bed of talent in our classrooms we don’t always get to hear about, or celebrate and share the success of.
This week I would like to raise awareness of two very talented sporting performers in our school community.

Before the Summer holidays we were pleased to announce that B.Fowler in year 9 had recently signed for the WLFC Academy and had been selected for the Hertfordshire County Schools football Squad. It was fantastic to hear that she is now a regular member of the HCSFA U14 playing squad and recently helped the team come back from a 2-0 deficit to win on penalties and take the squad into the quarter finals of the National Cup. Well done!

In the world of Swimming we have a number of very talented athletes who attend BMS, none moreso than P.Soteriou in year 10. During the half term break he improved his ranking in the 200mFreestyle to 27th in the UK!! What a fantastic achievement and testament to his hours of training. Great job.
We look forward to hearing more about both students’ endeavours and would love to know of any other students sporting successes that take place outside of school.
