On Thursday 24th November our Y13 students were provided with the opportunity of a mock interview in order to prepare themselves for either the world of work or higher education.
We were delighted to welcome representatives from a number of external organisations; Align Engineering, BCS Consultant, Warner Bros, Royal Navy, West One Loans, BT, Commvault, Natwest Bank, 1LOD, Little Kicks Deep Shah, TK Maxx, Anna Stephenson Human Resources consultant, Twenty 2 Business PWC Tech, Epson and Sarah Leveridge
The students were offered valuable feedback on their interview skills, quality of CV and personal statement and were given guidance for improvement where necessary.
The following comments were passed on by our visitors:-
“I thought the Year 13 students were very inspiring and very engaged throughout the whole process, and they continually displayed Bushey Core Values through their vast scope of diverse interests and ambitions. I felt positively humbled in all of the Interviews that I conducted and very privileged to be part of it, so thank you for the invitation to participate and share some knowledge and experience with the students.” Lt Cdr Simon Horton RN MA BA(Hons) / Proj Lead A, Centre for Intelligence Innovation, Ministry of Defence
“The students were inspiring, I really enjoyed speaking with them all. Every single one better than they gave credit to themselves in the interview, so if I had a message for them it’s believe in yourselves, you are brilliant.” – BT
“The students I saw were all very polite and well mannered, I’d say a real credit to the school.”- Anna Stephenson
“They were engaged and animated in their conversations and they have a bright future ahead of them.”-
Sarah Leveridge
“This was the second of these events at Bushey Meads for us and I was (on both occasions) so incredibly impressed by the students. All the ones I had the chance to meet were incredibly bright and prepared, even the ones that had exams on the day!” – Align
Feedback from students included:-
“I found it interesting to talk to the interviewers and found the feedback sheets very helpful”
“It was a really good experience and nice to be interviewed by adults who were not from school”
“Thank you for setting this up for me I really enjoyed it and feel far more confident for my next interview”
